IBM Dragons Winners!

Congratulations to all those CNY Paddlers that toughed it out yesterday (in
the drizzle) at the Chinese New Year Dragon Boat Festival!

For those that couldn't make it the Summary of Results were:
IBM Dragons Black

Heat 1 - 1st

Heat 2 - 1st with the fastest time of the day before the A Finals approx 1.02min. These placings and times meant that IBM Dragons Black made the A Final!

IBM Dragons Red
Heat 1 - 2nd
Heat 2 - 3rd
These were great placings as IBM Dragons Red had a tough draw, up against Cashcard who won the A Finals!!! :)

Sponsors Challenge Final
Competed against Channel 10, Sydney City Council, Medibank, Remy Martin

Results: IBM Black - 1st, IBM Red - 3rd

Corporate A Final

Cashcard 1 - 1st ARUP - 2nd - 1.02min flat Caltex - 3rd GHD - 4th IBM Dragons Black - 5th; approx 1.03min ING - 6th

Thank you all for your participation, enthusiasm, support and commitment to
the day, including the training days :) I'm glad all of you had fun, and
were able to bring your friends and family along as well.

The day could not have been possibly without mentioning a few names:

Coach JC & Mark van Uden --> Thanks for the inspiration and words of
getting us past the line... MVU even if you were on the opposition edging
us on.
Dani --> Thanks for your team coordination and behind the scenes organising
so the day ran smoothly.... i know you spent lots of time to ensure the
team was organised.
Jenny & Kim --> Thanks heaps for drumming.. hope you have voices today!!
Steve & Daly --> As usual superb sweeping.. especially those starts ;) ....
it was pure muscle!! ;)
George, Mark C, Scotty, Frank, Eizac, Melvin, Jason - for the man power in
carrying the drinks.... esp George who bought it all for us on the
Saturday!!!
Kim --> As usual the catering.... it's gotta be a first that we couldnt
finish all the food.. i'm sure no worries for the champes
Robert Orth --> Thank you for your Executive sponsorship and leading the
way from the Leadership team, it was great to see our leaders of IBM
support the IBM Dragon boat team. As employees I think it was great to see
our company be a sponsor of a fun event.

I'm sure there's others I've forgotten.. so apologies... but most
importantly you the paddlers thank you again for your efforts up to and
during the day!
